The life, professional and scientific paths of Paweł Jan Skrowaczewski (1878-1960) – an otorhinolaryngologist from Lvov and Opole, father of Stanisław P.S.J.S. Skrowaczewski (1923-2017) – one of the most outstanding conductors and composers of the second half of the twentieth century and the early twenty-first century were presented. Paweł Skrowaczewski’s contribution to the military health service was reported, especially for the military otorhinolaryngology. His achievements in the treatment of ear diseases were analyzed, especially the management of intracranial complications and the diagnosis of the Eustachian tube. His views on performing the so-called preventive tracheotomy during military operations were also analyzed.
