Tracheotomia jest najstarszym i najczęściej wykonywanym zabiegiem otolaryngologicznym. Jego historia to ponad 6000 lat. Występują rozbieżności w nomenklaturze zabiegu: tracheotomia vs tracheostomia. Praca jest przeglądem literatury, poszerzonej o własne doświadczenie autora. Autor przedstawia aktualne wskazania i powikłania po tej procedurze, a także nowe techniki wykonywania zabiegu.

Abstract:

Tracheotomy is the oldest and most frequently performed otolaryngological procedure. Its history is over 6000 years old. There are discrepancies in the nomenclature of the procedure: tracheotomy vs tracheostomy. The work is a review of the literature, extended by the author’s own experience. Autor presents the current indications and complications after this procedure, as well as new techniques for performing the procedure.
